Tae-Don Kim

Dr. Tae-Don Kim is a principal investigator of Immunotherapy Research Center at Korea Research Institute of Bioscience and Biotechnology (KRIBB) and professor of University of Science and Technology (UST). Dr. Kim received his Ph.D at Division of Life Sciences, POSTECH, Pohang, Korea in 2005. He was trained to investigate RNA metabolism in the biological clock system at POSTECH as a postdoctoral researcher. In 2008, he joined immunotherapy research center of KRIBB as a senior research scientist, and further experienced T cell immunology and its applications to cancer immune cell therapy at University of Washington of Seattle, USA as a visiting scientist from 2009 to 2011. His research interests are to investigate roles of post-transcriptional regulations in immune cell biology including NK and T cells, and to develop gene therapy using NK cells against cancer cells. Currently, he and his colleagues have focused on developing platform technologies of efficient CAR-NK gene therapy for cancer treatment.
