Kevin Dezfulian

Kevin K. Dezfulian was born in Tehran, Iran, in 1975. He received the B.S. degree in physics from the University of Florida, Gainesville, FL, USA, in 1996, and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in applied physics from Cornell University, Ithaca, NY, USA, in 2001 and 2004, respectively. From 2004 to 2015, he was a Senior Engineer and Senior Engineering Manager with IBM Microelectronics, where his work included device design, functional characterization, and product yield ramp for advanced CMOS technology nodes from 90 nm to 22 nm. (This work transitioned to GlobalFoundries upon their acquisition of certain IBM businesses in 2015.) Since 2017, he has been successively Principal and Distinguished Member of the Technical Staff with GlobalFoundries. He has helped to develop the GF Fotonix™ platform: the world's first volume 300mm Silicon Photonics foundry offering. His technical focus include the design of electro-optical modulators and novel optical couplers. Dr. Dezfulian is a co-inventor on nine issued U.S. patents.
