I got my Ph.D. at the Institute of Chemistry the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2007. The research as a Ph.D. candidate focused upon the labeling of the special groups on the amino acid of peptides. By labeling various luminophore (such as fluorophore) or electriferous groups (such as quaternary ammonium ions) onto the peptides to enhance the detection sensitivity and limit in various optic apparatus or mass spectrometry.
I joined Dr. Qu's lab at the pharmaceutical department of University at Buffalo in 2009, I focused on develops and applies LC/MS based strategies for research in the fields of Proteomics and Pharmaceutical Analysis. The research program in proteomics field involve: i) high-resolution and large-scale expression profiling of pathological proteomes (e.g. for cardiovascular diseases, colon cancer and infectious diseases) for the discovery of disease/therapeutic biomarkers using gel-free LC/MS methods; ii) Sensitive identification, localization and quantification of post-translational modifications in complex proteomes; Here, novel anti-PTM-peptide capture procedures, and alternating collision induced dissociation/electron transferring dissociation methods are employed to obtain abundant PTM information; iii) Targeted quantification of regulatory, marker proteins for clinical study, using highly-sensitive nano-LC/SRM-based methods. A number of key analytical advances have been developed in the laboratory, which greatly enhance the proteomic coverage, sensitivity and throughput for proteomic research.
I started my career in pharmaceutical industry since 2017, and still focused on those interests as in the University at Buffalo, SUNY.
