Reuss Joshua E

I am a medical oncology fellow at Johns Hopkins University conducting research within the Upper Aero-Digestive (UAD) division of the Department of Medical Oncology. My research focuses on novel therapeutic approaches and early phase clinical trial development in thoracic malignancies, specifically neoadjuvant immunotherapy in early stage non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and mesothelioma. I aim to develop early phase clinical trials involving neoadjuvant programmed death-1 (PD-1) inhibitors and other modulators of the immune response with the ultimate goal of transforming treatment paradigms for early stage thoracic malignancies in an effort to improve durable response and survival. In addition, I aim to study the tumor immune microenvironment both within tumor tissue and peripheral blood, with the goal of elucidating a deeper understanding of immunotherapy and generating accurate biomarkers for response which to this point have been elusive.
