Jochen Wollschläger received a diploma in biology from the University of Hamburg, Hamburg, Germany, in 2006 and the Ph.D. degree in biology from Jacobs University in Bremen, Germany, in 2013. He is a Postdoctoral Researcher in the group “In situ Measuring Systems” at the Institute of Coastal Research, Helmholtz-Zentrum Geesthacht (HZG). Before that, he worked at the University of Hamburg in several small projects in the group “Biodiversity of crop plants.” His research focuses on phytoplankton characterization and distribution in coastal areas using marine optics and molecular techniques. He is also involved in development and evaluation of new sensor systems.
