Joao Barroso is a Scientific Officer at the European Union Reference Laboratory for Alternatives to Animal Testing (EURL ECVAM) of the Joint Research Centre of the European Commission, where he supports the translation of validated alternative methods into internationally recognised standards with special focus on test method validation, the international regulatory acceptance (EU, OECD) of alternative test methods and the development of integrated approaches to testing and assessment (IATA).
