Joanne Beames

I am a postdoctoral research fellow at the Black Dog Institute. I am part of the implementation research team conducting the Future Proofing Study. I examine the implementation of evidence-based treatments to prevent anxiety and depression in young people. These treatments are delivered at scale within the community via smartphone technology. I am also interested in examining transdiagnostic mechanisms underlying psychopathology and conducting treatment evaluations. I have a background in social and health psychology. My research focused on aggression, anger, self-control, and attribution biases in weight stigma.
