Joachim N. Burghartz

Joachim N. Burghartz (Life Fellow, IEEE) received the Dipl.-Ing. degree in electrical engineering from RWTH Aachen University, Aachen, Germany, in 1982, and the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Stuttgart, Stuttgart, Germany, in 1987. He is currently the Director of IMS CHIPS and a Full Professor and the Head of the Institute for Nano and Microelectronic Systems, University of Stuttgart. He also acts as the CEO of IMS Mikro-Nano Produkte GmbH, Stuttgart. He has authored or coauthored more than 350 peer-reviewed papers in technical journals and conference proceedings and holds more than 20 patents. Dr. Burghartz was the recipient of the 2014 J. J. Ebers Award from IEEE EDS. He served on various functions for the IEEE Electron Devices Society (EDS).
