He is actively involved in both teaching and research and continues as a practicing physician in diabetes, endocrinology and general medicine. He has held roles as Assistant Medical Director for Medical Education within Swansea Bay University Health Board and Associate Dean for Academic Careers within the Wales Deanery. He was also a member of the Diabetes UK Committee of Healthcare Professionals and Chair of the Diabetes UK Professional Conference Organising Committee for 2020 and 2021. He has over 190 peer-reviewed publications.
