Schwede Jared W

Jared W. Schwede received the B.S. degree (magna cum laude) in physics from Yale University, New Haven, CT, USA, in 2007, and the Ph.D. degree in physics from Stanford University, Stanford, CA, USA, in 2014. In 2015, he became a part of the founding cohort at Cyclotron Road at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, Berkeley, a program for entrepreneurial scientists and engineers. During this time, he founded Spark Thermionics, Inc., Emeryville, where he is currently the Chief Executive Officer. His research interests include solid-state energy conversion, solar energy harvesting, and microfabrication. Dr. Schwede is a member of Phi Beta Kappa. He received the Howard L. Schultz Graduation Prize in Physics in 2007, the Stanford Graduate Fellowship in 2009, the Global Climate and Energy Project Distinguished Student Lecturer Award in 2011, and the Northern California Electronic Materials Symposium Ross N. Tucker Memorial Award in 2011.
