Career Trajectory
Bio
Janko’s research interests are focused on introducing novel bioengineering and biomaterial solutions to modeling and treatment of neurological disorders. During his PhD at the Technical University of Denmark, he developed microfluidic devices and 3D printing methods for in vitro engineering of stem cell-based neural circuits. After joining Parmar lab at Lund University, he has been working on direct reprogramming of adult human fibroblasts into dopaminergic neurons in injectible 3D cultures as a potential route towards patient-specific cell-replacement therapy for Parkinson’s disease.
