Jan Paczesny

Jan Paczesny was born in Zary (Poland) in 1985. He graduated from Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan (Poland) with distinction in 2009. During his studies, he was appointed as a "Researcher from abroad" in Biomedical Center in Lund, Sweden (2008). Afterward, he moved to Warsaw (Poland) to work with professor Robert Hołyst in the Institute of Physical Chemistry, Polish Academy of Sciences. He obtained his Ph.D. in physical chemistry with honors in 2012. His doctoral research was focused on thin films of amphiphilic compounds and nanoparticles and their applications. He has been appointed as a research fellow ("adjunkt") at the Department of Soft Condensed Matter and Fluids at the Institute of Physical Chemistry, Polish Academy of Sciences in 2012. From May 2016 to March 2018 he was a post-doc fellow in the group of Professor Bartosz Grzybowski in IBS Center for Soft and Living Matter in Ulsan, South Korea. In 2020 he started the "Living Materials" group at the Department of Physical Chemistry of Biological Systems at the Institute of Physical Chemistry, Polish Academy of Sciences.
