Jan Friesen

Jan Friesen received the M.Sc. degree (Diplom) in geography from the University of Bonn, Bonn, Germany, in 2002 and the Ph.D. degree from the Water Resources Section, Delft University of Technology, Delft, The Netherlands, in 2008. Since 2009, he has been with the Department of Computational Hydrosystems, Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research (UFZ), Leipzig, Germany. His research interests include remote sensing, hydrology, vegetation water studies, and the effect of vegetation water on remotely sensed soil moisture estimates. Dr. Friesen is a member of the International Association of Hydrological Sciences and the American Geophysical Union.
