My career has been within the academic world of neuromuscular disease and electrodiagnostic medicine. I have serve as the Chief of the Neuromuscular Disorders Section of the Department of Neurology at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and as Director of the EMG Laboratory at UNC Hospitals and Director of the university’s Muscular Dystrophy Association Clinic. My focus is in disorders of neuromuscular transmission including diagnosis, management and their immune abnormalities with the goal of bringing novel therapeutic agents to the bedside.
