Jagteshwar Grewal

Dr. Una Grewal is the Director of the Division of Population Health Research (DiPHR) at the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development. Dr. Grewal’s primary research focuses on fetal growth and pregnancy outcomes (e.g., gravid disorders, intrauterine growth restriction, birth defects), especially in relation to maternal nutrition. She is a co-investigator for the NICHD Fetal Growth Study and heads up the nutrient and supplement intake component for the study, which she developed with extramural funding from the NIH Office of Dietary Supplements. Dr. Grewal received her bachelor’s degree magna cum laude from Smith College and earned both her master’s degree in public health and her doctorate in epidemiological sciences at the University of Michigan School of Public Health.
