I am a final year Ph.D. candidate in Mechanical engineering who's thesis concerns the characterisation of diesel fuel sprays during, and after, the end of injection using high-speed microscopy at typical frame rates of 10-200 KHz.
Post-processing techniques have been developed allowing tracking of the spatiotemporal evolution of large and often surface-bound liquid structures at sub-micron scales.
I took a hiatus from my project in 2018, during which time I was directing a company managing digital assets and gaining knowledge of Application Programming Interfaces, chiefly JSON APIs. This has exposed me to new methods to process large, noisy data sets such as covariant and/or multivariate time series using dimensionality reduction and associated methods.
Ph.D. submission due end 2019.
