John is a Professor of Chronic Disease Epidemiology.
He is the Deputy Director of the Arthritis Research UK Centre for Epidemiology (CfE) at the University of Manchester. The CfE is leading the development and use of digital methods in epidemiology including methods to remotely monitor and assess patients, and deliver digitised interventions.
John is the Research Director for the School of Biological Sciences and the REF 2021 Unit of Assessment 1 Lead
He is an Academic Advisor for Year 1 and 2 MBChB students, an APEP and PEP supervisor and leads the Epidemiology Module of the MSc in Clinical Rheumatology
