Jim Martin (Member, IEEE) received the Ph.D. degree from North Carolina State University, Raleigh, NC, USA. He is currently an Associate Professor with the School of Computing, Clemson University, Clemson, SC, USA. Prior to joining Clemson, he was a Consultant with Gartner, and prior to that, a Software Engineer with IBM. His research interests include broadband access, wireless networks, Internet protocols, and network performance analysis. His current research projects include heterogeneous wireless systems and DOCSIS 3x cable access networks. He received funding from the U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF), NASA, the Department of Justice, Cisco, IBM, CableLabs, and BMW.
