Jan O Jansen

Jan O. Jansen received the B.Sc. degree in anatomy from University College, London, U.K., in 1994; the medical degree from United Medical and Dental School of Guy’s and St Thomas’s, London, in 1997; the Diploma degree in medical education from University of Dundee, Dundee, U.K., in 2006; and the Doctorate of Medicine degree from University of Berlin, Berlin, Germany, in 2010. He is a Consultant General/Trauma Surgeon and an Intensivist in Aberdeen, Aberdeen, U.K., and London. He is an Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer with University of Aberdeen, Aberdeen. He has published over 70 peer-reviewed articles. His research interests include organization of trauma services, with particular reference to the effects of geography and trauma resuscitation. Dr. Jansen was a recipient of the Queen’s Commendation for Valuable Service in 2009, for his research in Afghanistan. He is also a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England and the Faculty of Intensive Care Medicine of the Royal College of Anaesthetists.
