He is an auxiliary researcher from the department of Management and Feeding of Ruminant Animals from the Institute of Animal Science (ICA), Cuba. Currently, he is the head of this department and President of the Scientific Board of Young Researchers. He graduated from Agronomical Engineering (2004) and owns a PhD in Veterinary Sciences from the Program of Animal Production, in the Institute of Animal Science. His PhD was carried out in the field of Buffalo Digestive Physiology (2009). He carried out a post-PhD in Zootechnics in the field of digestive physiology and ruminal metabolism of buffaloes, in the faculty of Zootecnia e Ingeniería de los Alimentos de la Universidad de Sao Paulo (2012). He has experience on animal production, management, feeding and digestive physiology of buffaloes and ruminant nutrition. He taught in the Universidad de Guantánamo from 2004 to 2009, and in Universidad Agraria de la Habana from 2010 to nowadays. He has coordinated abroad Master degree courses. He is a teacher of several courses from the Master Program of Animal Production for tropical areas in ICA. He has been the tutor of several students of masters and diploma courses. He participates in national and international research projects related to buffaloes and the chain of values of cattle meat in Cuba, and he is the coordinator of CAPES international project in Cuba. He has several publications in journals of high visibility, with the subject of buffaloes. He has received more than 30 awards due to the results of his scientific and technical woks, with an impact on the implementation of results. He earned the National CITMA Award to the Young Research in 2013. He has participated I more than 15 national and international scientific events and has given lectures in Ecuador and Brazil. He has experience on animal production, management and feeding of buffaloes and ruminant nutrition. Member of the International Buffalo Federation (IBF) 2016.
