Ita Pfeferman Heilberg

Ita Pfeferman Heilberg, M.D. is a Full Professor of the Nephrology Division at the Federal University of São Paulo (UNIFESP), in Brazil. After completing a Residence program in Internal Medicine/Nephrology, she was admitted at the Federal University of São Paulo, to fulfill both Master in Science (1988) and PhD degrees (1993), followed by a post-Doctoral training at the same Institution. Her major research interests comprise Renal Stones, Mineral and Bone Metabolism in CKD/Transplantation, Genetic conditions (nephrolithiasis/ nephrocalcinosis-related tubulopathies and Autosomal Dominant Polycistic Kidney Disease) and Nutrition in kidney diseases. Her bibliographic production includes several peer-reviewed original articles published in scientific journals, book-chapters, and edition of books. Her academic advisories comprise 23 Master in Science Thesis, 18 PhD Thesis and Sponsorship of 3 Post-Doctoral fellows fullfilled under her mentorship, besides ongoing projects. She maintains scientific collaboration with national and international universities.
