Bio
My current research projects involve studying historic Euroquebec populations (lifestyle, health, diet and origins). They include a trans-Atlantic comparative approach with a view to exploring adaptation processes. Studying craniofacial morphology along with other approaches also allows me to explore population changes (differentiation and/or homogenization). My research in sub-Saharan Africa (South Africa, DRC, Malawi, Zimbabwe and Botswana) explores inter- and intra-regional variations in connection with economic changes (sedentarization, Iron Age) and various events (expansion, migration, slave trade). The interdisciplinary approach contributes to a better understanding of past populations, from prehistory to the historic period.
