Research interests
I have broad research interests within the field of Health Psychology, with expertise in Psycho-Oncology (an interdisciplinary field that intersects physical, psychological, socio-cultural and behavioural aspects of the cancer patient and caregiver experience). Recently, I broadened my research interests to other medical and mental illnesses such as HIV, cardiovascular disease, and bipolar disorder. My research is dedicated to empowering and improving quality-of-life of patients and their family carers through the development, evaluation and implementation of evidence-based psychosocial interventions and resources.

My current areas of research interest include:facilitating effectitive and supportive communication between clinicians, patients and their family,
improving informed medical decision-making and implementation of decision-making resources,
helping survivors of chronic illness such as cancer to optimise their quality of life, and
enhancing health care services.
