Ido Guy is supporting an EMEA-based team focusing on applied science for Commerce and Ads. he has been building and heading teams in Israel, the US, and Europe who applied machine learning and natural language processing to the world's largest e-commerce inventory. His teams brought models to production, with direct impact on the catalog, such as reduction of duplicate rate, growth of image coverage, and generation of product titles and descriptions. During these years, Ido was in charge of defining and raising funds for his team's projects as well as driving innovation into IBM products using rapid design, development, and evaluation of new technologies. In 2010, Ido received an IBM Corporate Award for his contribution to making IBM a market leader in Enterprise Social Software, with its Connections product.

Ido is a co-author of over 70 scientific papers in the fields of Information Retrieval, Recommender Systems, Data Mining, Human-Computer Interaction, and Information and Knowledge Management. He serves on the organizing and program committees of leading conferences in these areas, such as CHI, WWW, and SIGIR. He has served as Program co-chair for RecSys 2012 and has been a RecSys steering committee member since 2011. His co-authored papers won the best paper honorable mention award at ICDM 2006, VAST 2011, CSCW 2014, and SIGIR 2016 (as a single author), and the best paper award at ICDT 2022.
