Ibrahim Akkouh

The main aim of my work is to gain more knowledge about the transcriptional mechanisms underlying severe mental disorders. To this end, I employ different transcriptome-wide gene expression techniques, such as RNA sequencing and microarrays, to measure expression levels in blood, iPSC models, animal models, and human post-mortem brain samples. I use multiple bioinformatics and biostatistics tools, including R, to process and analyze the expression data.
