I. E. Kuznetsova

Iren E. Kuznetsova (M'99) was born in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Russia, on July 14, 1966. She graduated from Saratov State University in 1988 in the physics of plasma and received the master's degree. In 1996, she received the degree of Candidate of Sciences (physics-mathematics; Ph.D.) from Saratov State University. In 2004, she received the Doctor of Science diploma. Since 1988, she has worked at the Institute of Radio Engineering and Electronics of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Saratov Branch, as an engineer (1988 to 1991), then as Junior Research Scientist (1991 to 1997), then as Senior Research Scientist (1997 to 2004), and as a Leading Research Scientist (2004 to present). From 1996 to 1999, she worked at Saratov State University as a part-time Associate Professor. Since 2004, she has worked as a part-time Professor at Saratov State Technical University. From 1999 to 2002, she worked at Marquette University as Visiting Research Scientist. Currently, Iren E. Kuznetsova deals with the investigation of the bulk, surface, and plate acoustic waves propagating in piezoelectric materials and the development of various devices and sensors based on this. She is engaged in the theoretical investigation of the propagation of acoustic waves in conducting and viscous liquids. She is also engaged in the theoretical study of the influence of external static and variable electric and magnetic fields on acoustic waves propagating in nonlinear crystals. She has significant experience in numerical calculations of acoustic wave characteristics in various materials and structures. Previously, Dr. Kuznetsova dealt with the investigation of millimeter-range electromag-netic radiation of low intensity on erythrocyte membrane surface charge. Dr. Kuznetsova has about 100 publications in Russia and abroad. She was awarded the Russian President Grant for Young Russian Scientific Researchers (1996–1999) and the Russian Science Support Foundation Grant (2005–2006).
