He is an expertise in single port VATS and utilizing 3D thoracoscope during VATS. In addition, he is one of the first surgeons in Asia who used robotic stapler during robotic major pulmonary resection. Furthermore, he published the world’s first article about the single site robot surgery in thoracic disease in 2019. His major research topic is the image-guided surgery, and he has been conducting several national research projects for developing various kinds of intraoperative imaging devices and contrasts through a lot of in vitro laboratory works to preclinical animal and human studies. Since 2013, he has been a consultant of the Health and Welfare Department of Korea, a specialist in the field of medical devices in the pharmaceutical industry, and a member of the next-generation medical device project mentoring committee.
