Dr. Tien’s major interest of research is the pathogenesis of acute myeloid leukemia and myelodysplastic syndrome, including chromosome aberrations, gene mutations and epigenetic modification, and their clinical implications. She has published more than 160 articles in peer-reviewed journals including Blood, Leukemia, Cancer Res, etc., mostly as the first or corresponding author. Dr Tien has received the “Outstanding Research Award” from the National Science Council of Taiwan, and the “Outstanding Cancer Research Award” from the Chinese Oncology Society, Taiwan. She was a recipient of ‘Outstanding Research Award for Excellent Contribution in Medical Research”, National Taiwan University Hospital in 2010.
