Dr. Richard H. Hunt qualified from Edinburgh University 1966. Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of London, Edinburgh, and Canada, and of the American College of Gastroenterology and American Gastroenterology Association. Recognized with prizes and medals for his work in Gastroenterology. Iinterests focus on acid related disorders, H pylori infection, anti-inflammatory drugs and clinical pharmacology. Widely recognized in colorectal disease, colonoscopy. President of the Canadian Association of Gastroenterology (CAG) 1992-1993, founding member & President of the Canadian Helicobacter Study Group 1997 – 2001. Currently Vice President Canadian Digestive Health Foundation. CAG Distinguished Service Award 2002 and Ontario Association of Gastroenterology Award 2006. He gave the Bockus Lecture at Gastro 2009 and the Richard D McKenna Lecture to of the CAG 2012. He received the Warren and Marshall Medal of the EHMSG 2012 and the Dr Stephen Garnett Distinction Award of HHS 2013.
