2011年获批“教育部新世纪优秀人才”，2012年入选广东省“千百十工程”和华南理工大学“杰出人才培养计划”。目前主要从事生物微加工、功能性水凝胶、图案化生物医用材料、生物芯片和3D打印的研究和开发工作，在Advanced Functional Materials，Small, ACS Applied Materials & Interface, Analytical Chemistry, Advanced Drug Delivery Reviews, Chemistry of Materials, Biosensors & Bioelectronics, Lab on a Chip, Journal of Material Chemistry B等杂志上发表SCI文章80多篇,目前文章他引已达3000余次，参与编写英文专著1部 (“Electrochemical sensors, biosensors and their biomedical applications” Elsevier, 2008), 申请发明专利20余项，获批10余项。
