Professor, Hongsheng Tan, has been actively involved in Chinese medicine research in various institutions in Hunan University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine since 2001. Currently，she is responsible for clinical research design for efficacy and safety evaluation of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Clinical Research Institute, Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine. She has published more than 60 SCI papers and 2 Monographs (Deputy editor). In additional, she has 37 issued Patents. She obtained her Ph.D degree of Medicine in Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in 2010. And she has been to London Metropolitan University and Peking University as academic visitor. She also serves for several professional Associations, such as China Association of Chinese Medicine, Shanghai Pharmaceutical Association and so on. She is also currently the reviewers of more than 5 scientific journals. Her current research interest is focused on new drug discovery from natural resources, as well as the development of botanical dietary supplements from herbal medicines. Specifically, she is interested in clinical research design for clinical efficacy and safety evaluation of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Moreover, she is engaged in clinical research and secondary development and transformation of classic and famous prescriptions of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
