个人简介
I am a young and enthusiastic plant (Molecular & conventional) breeder and geneticist with eight years of experience (Including doctoral studies) in legume and cereal crops, I endeavour to pursue excellence in science for improving crop productivity, food security and conservation of the environment. Trait discovery for biotic and abiotic stress, SNP’s and Gene identification for trait discovery using Genome-wide Association Studies (GWAS). Population genetics, biochemical mechanisms, and gene and environment (G x E) interactions to find stable genotypes.
During this process, I used conventional breeding (Wide Hybridization), molecular methods and bioinformatics & statistical tools. During my PhD and Postdoctoral training, trait discovery, phenotyping, screening germplasms for host plant resistance for insects, and disease. I focused on how to find the host plant resistance to insects using morphological, biochemical and molecular mechanisms. In addition to these research questions, using different methods, I acquired theoretical and practical knowledge associated with phenotyping & genotyping, wide hybridization, cytogenetics, Molecular biology and conventional breeding techniques, UV/Vis spectroscopy, HPLC, analytical methods, NGS & GBS data analysis, MTA’s, SNP, gene identification, genome-wide association studies (GWAS), population genetics analysis. In parallel, I gained good experience in handling collaborations and driving big data set projects including phenotyping, genotyping and conducting field and greenhouse experiments, screening and selection, field data collection, analysis and interpretation using GENSTAT and R stat tools.
Furthermore, my research training at various places across the world made me be adaptable to work with researchers of different backgrounds. Based on my expertise and experience, your lab would be a right place for my research career to explore more in the legume and cereal crops such as Groundnut and Pigeonpea and sorghum. Genomics, host plant resistance (HPR), GWAS, Marker trait associations, candidate gene identification, to develop new verities of legume crops. Populations genetics (germplasm diversity and analysis), trait discovery and phenotyping to develop disease resistance in cereal and legume crops. Traits development, improved germplasm of legumes.
Plant breeding research to develop biotic and abiotic stress tolerant to Groundnut and Pigeonpea, sorghum, soybean crops and new developments in legume & cereal breeding. Genomic and phenomics tools for increased genetic gains. And it would be helpful to develop my research career & interest
