Hardy Halbauer

Hardy Halbauer received his diploma in electrical engineering from the Technical University of Karlsruhe in 1985. He joined Alcatel in 1985, where he worked on physical layer algorithms and application-specific integrated circuit development for high-capacity microwave links. Since 1995, he has been with the Alcatel Research Center, where he contributed to various national and European research projects and conducted research work on physical-layer design for different wireline and wireless communication systems. His current research activities at Alcatel-Lucent Bell Labs are on multiantenna system design and signal processing for advanced wireless communication systems, focusing on 3-D beamforming and interference-avoidance techniques.
