I investigate anxiety from a decision-making perspective, applying fMRI and experimental aversive-learning techniques to identify the neural and psychological processes underlying maladaptive avoidance and other defensive behaviors, and how these behavioral patterns respond to psychological interventions. With this work, I aim to contribute brain-based insights that improve the conceptualization and treatment of psychopathology.
