Guido F. Schauer

My research interests center on variation in thinking performance. That is, I am particularly interested in improving our understanding of cognitive processes underlying intra-individual, inter-individual, and situation-induced performance variation in reasoning, judgments, and decision making. Toward this aim, I have designed and implemented a variety of experimental paradigms on various population groups, and I am currently writing a theoretical paper on state dependency and reasoning performance, which may provide a more fine-grained, predictive account of behavior and brain activity than dual-system theories.
