in recent years, Bodwin has been interested in the theory of the strong quantum chromodynamics (QCD) and in bound-state problems, both within the standard model of particle physics and in models of new physics. His interests in QCD include all-orders factorization theorems, which enable perturbative calculations of high-energy processes, techniques for precision higher-order perturbative calculations, and production and decay of non relativistic QCD bound states (heavy quarkonia), which serve as paradigms for the interplay between perturbative and nonperturbative QCD physics. He is also interested in applications of lattice-gauge-theory techniques to determine nonperturbative quantities that enter into factorization theorems.
