Gopikrishna Deshpande (Senior Member, IEEE) received the M.S. degree in electrical communication engineering from Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru, India, in 2003, and the Ph.D. degree in biomedical engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology, USA, in 2007. He is currently a Professor with the AU MRI Research Center, Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Auburn University, USA, where he is also an affiliated Faculty Member of the Department of Psychological Sciences. Before moving to Auburn University, he was a Postdoctoral Researcher and then a Research Faculty Member of the Biomedical Imaging Technology Center, Emory University, USA (2007–2010). He has published more than 120 peer-reviewed journal articles in the field of signal processing, neuroimaging, brain connectivity, and machine learning. He has received numerous awards, including the President’s Outstanding Collaborative Units Award. His research is funded by U.S. Department of Defense, National Science Foundation, and National Institutes of Health.
