Bio
Diego González-Aguilera graduated in surveying engineering and geodesy and cartography engineering from Salamanca University, Spain, in 1999 and 2001, respectively. He received the Ph.D. degree in 3D reconstruction from a single view from the Institute of Computer Vision and Robotics, INRIA, Grenoble, France, in 2005. He stayed as a Research Assistant at the Institute of Computer Vision and Robotics, INRIA. He is currently a Full Professor at the University of Salamanca in the field of photogrammetry, geodetic and cartographic engineering. He has authored more than 150 research articles in international journals and conference proceedings. Actually, he is a member of ISPRS, where he is serving as the Co-Chair for the Working Group on ‘Data Acquisition and Processing in Cultural Heritage’ and regularly acts as a program committee member of conferences and a reviewer for related journals. In 2015, the contribution of his works to the progress of knowledge was recognized by the Royal Academy of Engineering with the Royal Academy of Engineering Award ‘Juan Lopez de Peñalver.’ Based on his thesis’s results, he obtained six international awards of the International Societies of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ISPRS/ASPRS).
