He made major contributions to the understanding of the Earth's magnetosphere and the heliosphere, particularly in helping to establishing the field of space weather and the term heliophysics - a term which is now standard use. Research Interests: Space physics including solar wind, magnetospheres, and space weather. Professor Siscoe’s areas of research include space plasma physics, geospace environment modeling, and space weather. He is currently interested in increasing understanding of magnetospheric structure and behavior through numerical simulations.
