Giorgio Figliolini

Giorgio Figliolini received the Master's degree in mechanical engineering (with honors) from the University of Cassino, Cassino, Italy. In 1992, he became an Assistant Professor of Mechanics of Machinery and Mechanisms in the School of Engineering of the University of Cassino. In 1998, he was a Visiting Scholar at the Center for Intelligent Machines, McGill University, Montreal, QC, Canada. In 2000, he worked in the area of hydraulic systems at the Center for Fluid Power Transmission and Motion Control, Bath University, Bath, U.K. Since 2002, he has been an Associate Professor of Mechanics of Machinery and Mechanisms in the School of Engineering, University of Cassino. His major fields of study are theory of machines and mechanisms, robotics and mechatronics. His current research interests are the synthesis of innovative mechanical transmission systems, the design and control of grippers and biped walking robots, the mechatronic analysis and design of pneumatic devices. Mr. Figliolini is Member of the Italian Society of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics (AIMETA) since 1992 and a Member of American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) since 1993.
