Rosario Garcia

Rosario Garcia has a Ph.D. degree in chemistry, legal history, and physical geography. She acts currently as the Director of the Department of Geology and Geochemistry at the Faculty of Sciences of the Autonomous University of Madrid (Spain), Director of the Courses on Gemology and Diamond, and Professor of geology for students of biology, chemistry, and environmental science at the same university. She specializes in XRD, SEM/EDX, and polarization optical microscopy. Her main research areas are the archeometry, the pozzolanic materials addition to cement using waste, the gemology, the loess, the mineralogy, and the ceramic materials. She serves as a Coordinator of the research group Applied Geochemistry Clays, Cements, and Ceramics and the editor of prestigious journals on waste and mineralogy. She acts as a legal expert and has participated in courses on ancient pottery, a Member of the Committee of Experts on the Society for the Study of Ancient Pottery in Hispania, and a Member of the Science and Technology Heritage Conservation.
