Education: Degree in Agricultural Sciences at Catholic University of Piacenza, Italy (1990); PhD in Applied Genetics, University of Milan, Italy (1994); Visiting Postdoctoral Scientist at the John Innes Center, Norwich, UK (2000-2001) Professional experience: end 2018-present: associate professor of Genetics, Università degli Studi del Piemonte Orientale; 2011-2018: in charge director of the Rice research unit, CREA, Vercelli, Italy; 1991-2011: researcher at the Genomics research centre, CREA, Fiorenzuola d’Arda (PC), Italy. Areas of expertise: Plant geneticist: conventional breeding, molecular genetics, quantitative genetics, map-based cloning, marker-assisted selection, association mapping. Teaching on Plant Molecular Biology and Molecular Plant Pathology and Plant Genomics. Experience in management: research group leader, management of scientific projects (coordinator and WP leader in national research projects, responsible of research unit and WPs in international research projects).
