For many gastrointestinal tumors, especially in the stage of metastasis, effective conservative therapies continue to be lacking. New therapeutic targets and a detailed elucidation of their functions, as well as a precise analysis of the mode of action of modern cancer therapeutics, are necessary to improve tumor therapy.
