Shinsuke Fujioka received the Ph.D. degree from the Graduated School of Engineering, Osaka University, Osaka, Japan, in 2005. His Ph.D. thesis was on Suppression of Hydrodynamic Instability on Ablation Surface of Laser-Driven Fusion Pellet. Since 2004, he has been an Assistant Professor with the Institute of Laser Engineering (ILE), Osaka University, where he worked on the development of laser-based extreme ultraviolet light source for next-generation photolithography applications, laboratory X-ray astrophysics with high-power laser, and fast isochoric heating of inertial confinement fusion, and magnetized high-energy-density plasmas with laser-driven magnetic field. He is currently a Professor with ILE. He has authored 246 journal papers according to the Web of Science database. Dr. Fujioka received the Young Scientists’ Prize from the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology in 2011 and also from the Japanese Society of Physics in 2010.
