My main clinical interests, both in children and adults, are asthma and rhinitis, lung function and airway inflammation. I am the Director of the new BSc in Digital Health and Biomedical Innovation and coordinator of three curricular units in the Clinical and Health Services Research PhD programme (FMUP) - Health Services Research, Scientific Publication and Communication and Intervention Studies - Clinical Trials. I have co-authored over 300 WOS core publications and have >8400 citations of papers indexed by WOS with an h-index of 48. I have participated in >25 research projects, 8 as Principal Investigator, e.g. mINSPIRER - mHealth to measure and improve adherence to medication in chronic obstructive respiratory diseases (funded by FCT, POCI-01-0145-FEDER-09038 2018), Control and Burden of Asthma and Rhinitis (funded by FCT, PTDC/SAU-SAP/119192/2010 and National Scientific Societies), or the CARAT project - Control of Allergic Rhinitis and Asthma Questionnaire (www.caratnetwork.org).
