Fernando Stavale

Born in Rio de Janeiro on January 16, 1981, bachelor in physics (Fluminense Federal University/2003) and doctorate in Metallurgical and Material Engineering (Rio de Janeiro Federal University/2009). Received the Alexander von Humboldt fellowship to develop surface science studies in the Fritz Haber Institute (2010-2013) and later in the Brazilian Center for Physics Research has begun his own research group (2013) associated to the Fritz-Haber Institute through the Max-Planck Partner Group Program between 2015-2020. His research group is interested on basic and applied surface science of solid-gas, solid-liquid, and solid-solid interfaces mostly related to catalytic processes and surface chemistry of metal oxides surfaces. These scientific topics are usually explored in atomic scale using surface sensitive microscopies (scanning probe microscopies) and spectroscopies (electron photoelectron spectroscopies).
