García López Fernando J

Fernando García-López was born in Madrid, Spain, in 1954. He received the Clinical Medicine degree in nephrology in 1982 and the Master of Health Science degree in epidemiology from the Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, MD, in 1992, and the Speciality degree in preventive medicine and public health issued by the Ministry of Education, Spain, in 2001. He has been working in clinical practice in several departments of nephrology in Spain. Since 1993, he has been with the Unit of Clinical Epidemiology, University Hospital Puerta de Hierro, Madrid, Spain, as the Head. He has been the Principal Investigator of three public-funded research proposals. He is the author or coauthor of more than 60 papers and four book chapters. His current research interests include epidemiology of kidney disease and clinical trials. Dr. García-López is a member of the Society for Epidemiological Research, the Society for Clinical Trials, the European Dialysis and Transplantation Association, the Spanish Society of Epidemiology, and the Spanish Society of Nephrology. He received an award from the Fundación íñigo Álvarez de Toledo for a research proposal done in dialysis patients.
