Guesmi Fatma

Dr. Fatma Guesmi received her Ph.D. degree in Biochemistry and Molecular biology from Faculty of Sciences of Bizerte, Bizerte, Tunisia where she studied the biological activities of medicinal plants in both in vivo and in vitro. During doctoral research program, she has done part of her thesis work in the Department of Experimental Therapeutics, University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, TX, USA. Dr. Fatma Guesmi’s work focused on the anticancer properties of natural compounds in vitro, which suppresses the activation of pro-inflammatory transcription factors NF-κB.The gene products regulated by NF-kB have now been linked to cellular transformation, tumor cell survival, proliferation, invasion, angiogenesis, metastasis, chemoresistance, and radioresistance.
