My current project called "COLULVA" which investigates the cold adaptation of the green macroalga Ulva. Ulva is characterised by excellent adaptability to changes in its environment and its growth and morphogenesis depend on the associated bacteria releasing growth promoting compounds (morphogens). COLDULVA aims to identify stress-regulated genes and metabolites in both samples collected from Antarctica and samples affected by the short-term cold stress in the lab.
