Francisca Sánchez Jiménez is a Full Professor of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology "at honorem" in the University of Malaga (www.bmbq.uma.es/procel ). She was IP of the unit 741 and the Bioinformatics Platform of Spanish Network for R&D on Rare Diseases (CIBERER, www.ciberer.es and www.ciberer.es/bier). She has been interested in energy and amino acid metabolism in mammalian cells from more than 35 years, mainly biogenic amines and diseases related to them. A branch of the group is devoted to bioinformatic solutions to applied to Systems Biology projects. For instance, several iniciatives were able to reveal new information on genes-diseases relationships. She has participated in international collaborative networks and published more than 130 peer-reviewed articles (PubMed: sanchez-jimenez-f). Currently, she is retired but still continues collaborating with her group and institution, as well as with science dissemitation activities.
